Why this exists

I'm a foreign freelancer in Korea. What I needed was a single place to see how much to set aside for taxes, and by when.

The tools I tried assumed you already knew the system. As a foreigner, you don't. Taxes, 사업자, 세무사: all of it you figure out from scratch.

Yusu started as that place for me. I'm putting it online because the next person probably needs the same thing.

What it does

• Invoices in KRW, EUR, USD, GBP, or JPY, with the Korean tax fields clients here ask for.
• A running 종합소득세 estimate that updates as invoices get paid, so you know where you stand before May.
• AI contract review when a client sends you something to sign, in English or Korean.
• A directory of 세무사 who work with foreign clients, kept up by the community.

Why it's free

Yusu is free. There's no subscription and nothing to upgrade to. There's a Ko-fi link if you want to help cover hosting, but it's optional.

I don't sell your data and I don't run ads. We're a small enough community already; putting a paywall in the middle of it would have been a strange choice.

What it isn't

Yusu is not a tax filing service and it isn't legal or tax advice. The estimates and the contract analyses are starting points, not replacements for a 세무사 or a 변호사. When something matters, talk to a professional. The directory is there to help you find one.

Yusu is built to complement your accountant, not replace them.
